Deu 6:4  “Hear, O Yisra’ĕl: יהוה our Elohim, יהוה is one!

Terumah, Terumoh, Terimuh, or Trumah (תְּרוּמָה — Hebrew for “gift” or “offering,” the twelfth word and first distinctive word in the parashah) is the nineteenth weekly Torah portion (פָּרָשָׁה, parashah) in the annual Jewish cycle of Torah reading and the seventh in the Book of Exodus. The parashah tells of Yah’s instructions to make the Tabernacle and its furnishings. The parashah constitutes Exodus 25:1–27:19. It is made up of 4,692 Hebrew letters, 1,145 Hebrew words, 96 verses, and 155 lines in a Torah Scroll (סֵפֶר תּוֹרָה, Sefer Torah). Jews in the Diaspora read it the nineteenth Sabbath after Simchat Torah, generally in February and rarely in early March.

Prophets: 1 Kings 5:12(4:26) – 6:13

1Ki 4:26  And Shelomoh had forty thousand stalls of horses for his chariots, and twelve thousand horsemen.

1Ki 4:27  And these governors, each one in his new moon, provided food for Sovereign Shelomoh and for all who came to the table of Sovereign Shelomoh. There was no lack in their supply.

1Ki 4:28  They also brought barley and straw to the appointed place, for the horses and steeds, each one according to his right-ruling.

1Ki 4:29  And Elohim gave Shelomoh exceeding great wisdom and understanding, and largeness of heart like the sand on the seashore.

1Ki 4:30  And Shelomoh’s wisdom excelled the wisdom of all the men of the East and all the wisdom of Mitsrayim.

1Ki 4:31  For he was wiser than all men, than Ěythan the Ezrahite, and Hěman, and Kalkol, and Darda, the sons of Maḥol. And his name was in all the nations round about.

1Ki 4:32  And he spoke three thousand proverbs, and his songs were one thousand and five.

1Ki 4:33  And he spoke of trees, from the cedar tree of Leḇanon even to the hyssop that springs out of the wall. And he spoke of beasts, and of birds, and of creeping creatures, and of fish.

1Ki 4:34  And there came from all peoples, from all the sovereigns of the earth who had heard of his wisdom, to hear the wisdom of Shelomoh.

1Ki 5:1  And Ḥiram sovereign of Tsor sent his servants to Shelomoh, because he heard that they had anointed him sovereign in place of his father, for Ḥiram had always loved Dawiḏ.

1Ki 5:2  And Shelomoh sent to Ḥiram, saying,

1Ki 5:3  “You know my father Dawiḏ was unable to build a house for the Name of יהוה his Elohim because of the battles which were all around him, until יהוה put them under the soles of his feet.

1Ki 5:4  “But now יהוה my Elohim has given me rest all around, there is neither adversary nor evil incident.

1Ki 5:5  “And see, I intend to build a house for the Name of יהוה my Elohim, as יהוה spoke to my father Dawiḏ, saying, ‘Your son, whom I set on your throne in your place, he does build the house for My Name.’

1Ki 5:6  “And now, command that they cut down cedars for me from Leḇanon. And let my servants be with your servants, and let me pay you wages for your servants according to whatever you say. For you know there is none among us who knows to cut timber like the Tsiḏonians.”

1Ki 5:7  And it came to be, when Ḥiram heard the words of Shelomoh, that he rejoiced greatly and said, “Blessed be יהוה this day, for He has given Dawiḏ a wise son over this great people!”

1Ki 5:8  And Ḥiram sent to Shelomoh, saying, “I have heard that which you sent me. Let me do all you desire concerning the cedar and cypress logs.

1Ki 5:9  “Let my servants bring them down from Leḇanon to the sea, then I put them in rafts by sea to the place you direct me. And I shall spread them out there, then you take them up, while you do my desire by giving food for my household.”

1Ki 5:10  And Ḥiram gave Shelomoh cedar and cypress logs – all his desire.

1Ki 5:11  And Shelomoh gave Ḥiram twenty thousand kors of wheat as food for his household, and twenty kors of pressed oil. Thus Shelomoh gave to Ḥiram year by year.

1Ki 5:12  And יהוה gave Shelomoh wisdom, as He promised him. And there was peace between Ḥiram and Shelomoh, and the two of them made a covenant.

1Ki 5:13  And Sovereign Shelomoh raised up compulsory labour out of all Yisra’ěl. And the compulsory labour was thirty thousand men.

1Ki 5:14  And he sent them to Leḇanon, ten thousand per new moon by courses – they were one new moon in Leḇanon, two new moons at home. And Aḏoniram was over the compulsory labour.

1Ki 5:15  And Shelomoh had seventy thousand bearing burdens, and eighty thousand hewing stone in the mountains,

1Ki 5:16  besides three thousand three hundred from the chiefs of Shelomoh’s deputies who were over the work, those ruling over the people who laboured in the work.

1Ki 5:17  And the sovereign commanded, and they brought large stones, precious stones, to lay the foundation of the House with hewn stones.

1Ki 5:18  And Shelomoh’s builders, and Ḥiram’s builders, and the men of Geḇal did hew, and prepared timber and stones to build the House.

1Ki 6:1  And it came to be, in the four hundred and eightieth year after the children of Yisra’ěl had come out of the land of Mitsrayim, in the fourth year of the reign of Shelomoh over Yisra’ěl, in the new moon of Ziw, which is the second new moon, that he began to build the House of יהוה.

1Ki 6:2  And the house which Sovereign Shelomoh built for יהוה was sixty cubits long, and twenty wide, and thirty cubits high.

1Ki 6:3  And the porch at the front of the Hěḵal of the House was twenty cubits long, according to the breadth of the House, and its width ten cubits, from the front of the House.

1Ki 6:4  And he made for the House windows with narrowed frames.

1Ki 6:5  And against the wall of the House he built rooms all around, against the walls of the House, all around the Hěḵal and the Speaking Place. Thus he made side rooms all around.

1Ki 6:6  The lowest side room was five cubits wide, and the middle one was six cubits wide, and the third one was seven cubits wide; for he made narrow ledges around the outside of the House, so as not to lay hold on the walls of the House.

1Ki 6:7  And the House, when it was being built, was built with finished stone made ready beforehand, so that no hammer or chisel or any iron tool was heard in the House while it was being built.

1Ki 6:8  The doorway for the middle side room was on the right side of the House. And they went up by stairs to the middle side rooms, and from the middle to the third.

1Ki 6:9  So he built the House and completed it, and he panelled the House with beams and boards of cedar.

1Ki 6:10  And he built the side rooms of the structure against all the House, each five cubits high, and they were fastened to the House with cedar beams.

1Ki 6:11  And the word of יהוה came to Shelomoh, saying,

1Ki 6:12  “This House which you are building – if you walk in My laws, and do My right-rulings, and shall guard all My commands and walk in them, then I shall confirm My word with you, which I spoke to your father Dawiḏ,

1Ki 6:13  and shall dwell in the midst of the children of Yisra’ěl, and not forsake My people Yisra’ěl.”

Jeremiah 33:25-26

Jer 33:25  “Thus said יהוה, ‘If My covenant is not with day and night, and if I have not appointed the laws of the heavens and earth,

Jer 33:26  then I would also reject the descendants of Ya‛aqoḇ and Dawiḏ My servant, so that I should not take of his descendants to be rulers over the descendants of Aḇraham, Yitsḥaq, and Ya‛aqoḇ. For I shall turn back their captivity, and have compassion on them.’ ”

Brit Hadasha: Matthew 12:46 – 13:58

Mat 12:46  And while He was still talking to the crowds, see, His mother and brothers stood outside, seeking to speak with Him.

Mat 12:47  And one said to Him, “See, Your mother and Your brothers are standing outside, seeking to speak with You.”

Mat 12:48  But He answering, said to the one who spoke to Him, “Who is My mother and who are My brothers?”

Mat 12:49  And having stretched out His hand toward His taught ones, He said, “See My mother and My brothers!

Mat 12:50  “For whoever does the desire of My Father who is in the heavens is My brother and sister and mother.”c Footnote: cSee Luk_8:21 where the wording differs slightly.

Mat 13:1  And on that day יהושע went out of the house and sat by the sea.

Mat 13:2  And large crowds were gathered together to Him, so that He went into a boat and sat down. And all the crowd stood on the beach.

Mat 13:3  And He spoke to them much in parables, saying, “See, the sower went out to sow.

Mat 13:4  “And as he sowed, some indeed fell by the wayside, and the birds came and devoured them.

Mat 13:5  “And others fell on rocky places, where they did not have much soil, and immediately they sprang up, because they had no depth of soil.

Mat 13:6  “But when the sun was up they were scorched, and because they had no root they withered.

Mat 13:7  “And others fell among thorns, and the thorns came up and choked them.

Mat 13:8  “And others fell on good soil and yielded a crop, some a hundredfold, some sixty, some thirty.

Mat 13:9  “He who has ears to hear, let him hear!”

Mat 13:10  And the taught ones came and said to Him, “Why do You speak to them in parables?”

Mat 13:11  And He answering, said to them, “Because it has been given to you to know the secrets of the reign of the heavens,a but to them it has not been given.b Footnotes: aMattithyahu uses the word “heaven(s)” as an euphemism for the Name or designation of the Father, while Mar_4:11 and Luk_8:10 use the Father’s Name/designation. bSee also Mar_4:33-34.

Mat 13:12  “For whoever possesses, to him more shall be given, and he shall have overflowingly; but whoever does not possess, even what he possesses shall be taken away from him.c Footnote: cCompare footnote at Luk_8:18.

Mat 13:13  “Because of this I speak to them in parables, because seeing they do not see, and hearing they do not hear, nor do they understand.

Mat 13:14  “And in them the prophecy of Yeshayahu is completely filled, which says, ‘Hearing you shall hear and by no means understand, and seeing you shall see and by no means perceive,

Mat 13:15  for the heart of this people has become thickened, and their ears are hard of hearing, and their eyes they have closed, lest they should see with their eyes and hear with their ears, lest they should understand with their heart, and turn back, and I heal them.’ Isa_6:9-10.

Mat 13:16  “And blessed are your eyes because they see, and your ears because they hear,

Mat 13:17  for truly I say to you, that many prophets and righteous ones longed to see what you see, and did not see it, and to hear what you hear, and did not hear it.

Mat 13:18  “You, then, hear the parable of the sower:

Mat 13:19  “When anyone hears the word of the reign, and does not understand it, then the wicked one comes and snatches away what was sown in his heart. This is that sown by the wayside.

Mat 13:20  “And that sown on rocky places, this is he who hears the word and immediately receives it with joy,

Mat 13:21  yet he has no root in himself, but is short-lived, and when pressure or persecution arises because of the word, immediately he stumbles.

Mat 13:22  “And that sown among the thorns is he who hears the word, and the worry of this age and the deceit of riches choke the word, and it becomes fruitless.d Footnote: d Luk_21:34, 2Ti_3:4.

Mat 13:23  “And that sown on the good soil is he who hears the word and understands it, who indeed bears fruit and yields – some a hundredfold, some sixty, some thirty.”

Mat 13:24  Another parable He put before them, saying, “The reign of the heavens has become like a man who sowed good seed in his field,

Mat 13:25  but while men slept, his enemy came and sowed darnele among the wheat and went away. Footnote: eDarnel looks like wheat but is poisonous to man and beast.

Mat 13:26  “And when the blade sprouted and bore fruit, then the darnel also appeared.

Mat 13:27  “And the servants of the master of the house came and said to him, ‘Master, did you not sow good seed in your field? From where then does it have the darnel?’

Mat 13:28  “And he said to them, ‘A man, an enemy did this.’ And the servants said to him, ‘Do you wish then, that we go and gather them up?’

Mat 13:29  “But he said, ‘No, lest while you gather up the darnel you also uproot the wheat with them.

Mat 13:30  Let both grow together until the harvest, and at the time of harvest I shall say to the reapers, “First gather the darnel and bind them in bundles to burn them, but gather the wheat into my granary.” ’ ”

Mat 13:31  Another parable He put before them, saying, “The reign of the heavens is like a mustard seed, which a man took and sowed in his field,

Mat 13:32  which indeed is less than all the seeds, but when it is grown it is greater than the plants and becomes a tree, so that the birds of the heaven come and dwell in its branches.” Psa_104:12, Eze_17:23, Eze_31:6, Dan_4:12.

Mat 13:33  Another parable He spoke to them, “The reign of the heavens is like leaven, which a woman took and hid in three measures of meal until all was leavened.”

Mat 13:34  יהושע said all this to the crowds in parables, and He did not speak to them without a parable,

Mat 13:35  so that what was spoken by the prophet might be filled, saying, “I shall open My mouth in parables, I shall pour forth what has been hidden from the foundation of the world.” Psa_78:2.

Mat 13:36  Then, having sent the crowds away, יהושע went into the house. And His taught ones came to Him, saying, “Explain to us the parable of the darnel of the field.”

Mat 13:37  And He answering, said to them, “He who is sowing the good seed is the Son of Aḏam,

Mat 13:38  and the field is the world. And the good seed, these are the sons of the reign, but the darnel are the sons of the wicked one,

Mat 13:39  and the enemy who sowed them is the devil. And the harvest is the end of the age, and the reapers are the messengers.

Mat 13:40  “As the darnel, then, is gathered and burned in the fire, so it shall be at the end of this age.

Mat 13:44  “Again, the reign of the heavens is like treasure hidden in a field, which a man having found it, hid, and for joy over it he goes and sells all that he has and buys that field.

Mat 13:45  “Again, the reign of the heavens is like a man, a merchant, seeking fine pearls,

Mat 13:46  who, when he had found one pearl of great price, went and sold all that he had and bought it.

Mat 13:47  “Again, the reign of the heavens is like a dragnet that was thrown into the sea and gathered some of every kind,

Mat 13:52  And He said to them, “Therefore every scholar taught in the reign of the heavens is like a householder who brings out of his treasure matters, renewed and old.”

Mat 13:58  And He did not do many miracles there because of their unbelief.

Hebrews 8:1-6

Heb 8:1  Now the summary of what we are saying is: We have such a High Priest, who is seated at the right hand of the throne of the Greatness in the heavens,

Heb 8:2  and who serves in the set-apart place and of the true Tent, which יהוה set up, and not man.

Heb 8:3  For every high priest is appointed to offer both gifts and slaughters. So it was also necessary for this One to have somewhat to offer.

Heb 8:4  For if indeed He were on earth, He would not be a priest, since there are priests who offer the gifts according to the Torah,

Heb 8:5  who serve a copy and shadow of the heavenly, as Mosheh was warned when he was about to make the Tent. For He said, “See that you make all according to the pattern shown you on the mountain.” Exo_25:40.

Heb 8:6  But now He has obtained a more excellent service, inasmuch as He is also Mediatora of a better covenant, which was constituted on better promises. Footnote: aMessiah is called the Mediator of the New (Renewed) Covenant in Hebrews, in three places: Heb_8:6, Heb_9:15, Heb_12:24.

Hebrews 9:23-24

Heb 9:23  It was necessary, then, that the copies of the heavenly ones should be cleansed with these, but the heavenly ones themselves with better slaughter offerings than these.

Heb 9:24  For Messiah has not entered into a Set-apart Place made by hand – figures of the true – but into the heaven itself, now to appear in the presence of Elohim on our behalf,

Hebrews 10:1

Heb 10:1  For the Torah, having a shadow of the good matters to come, and not the image itself of the matters, was never able to make perfect those who draw near with the same slaughter offerings which they offer continually year by year.

Aharonic Blessing

Num 6:22  And יהוה spoke to Mosheh, saying,

Num 6:23  “Speak to Aharon and his sons, saying, ‘This is how you bless the children of Yisra’ĕl. Say to them:

Num 6:24  “יהוה bless you and guard you;

Num 6:25  יהוה make His face shine upon you, and show favour to you;

Num 6:26  יהוה lift up His face upon you, and give you peace.” ’

Num 6:27  “Thus they shall put My Name on the children of Yisra’ĕl, and I Myself shall bless them.”
